'My Father's Shadow' Makes Historic Debut at Cannes

"My Father's Shadow," directed by Akinola Davies Jr., has made history as the first Nigerian film ever selected for the Cannes Film Festival’s official lineup, screening in the Un Certain Regard section.  The film is a poignant and personal tale inspired by the Davies brothers’ reflections on their late father, set in Lagos on a politically significant day in 1993.  This marks a significant milestone in elevating Nigerian cinema on the global stage.
